After participating in this webinar, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe the chronic condition ME/CFS in students.
2. Recognize the symptoms for possible Long COVID in youth.
3. Identify the resources available to students/families for treatment of these chronic conditions.
4. Describe the educational impact of ME/CFS, Long COVID, POTS on students.
Presenter:
Dr. Rowe received his BA from the University of Toronto, and attended medical school at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He completed his residency training in pediatrics, fellowship training in general pediatric academic development, and Chief Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His clinical interests and research for the last 25 years have focused on medical conditions characterized by chronic fatigue. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Defense, the Solve ME/CFS Initiative, and several smaller foundations, as well as by private philanthropy. He has directed the Chronic Fatigue Clinic at the Children’s Center since 1996, where he is the inaugural recipient of the Sunshine Natural Wellbeing Foundation Chair in Chronic Fatigue and Related Disorders.
