Objectives:

Learning Outcome (s)  As a result of participating in this educational activity, participants will be able to:

1.     Distinguish between “Quick reliever” and “Controller” medications.

2.     Understand “SMART” therapy, as suggested in recent guidelines.


Presenter:

Elizabeth Klements MS, RN, PPCNP-BC, AE-C recently retired from Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA after being the Asthma Clinical Practice Specialist there for almost 20 years. She also worked at Bridgewater Pediatrics, providing Urgent Care on Saturdays for 20 years, until Covid hit. Beth has been a Certified PNP for 24 years, and a Registered Nurse for 45 years. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Boston College Connell School of Nursing. Beth is a frequent speaker on Asthma and other related topics locally, regionally, and nationally. She is the proud mother of 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
