Objectives:   After viewing this module you will be able to:
1. Calculate appropriate carbohydrate amounts in serving sizes.
2. Calculate appropriate insulin doses for students with diabetes.


Presenter:

Ann Marie Klaver DNP, MSN, RN has been a nurse for over 25 years. She has a master’s in Nursing from Salem State University. She currently works for the Brockton Public School system as the Southeast Region School Nurse Consultant. She was appointed to ESH Evaluation Committee, providing districts assistance and guidance in complete continuous quality improvement projects, including publishing a “field trip toolkit” for local district guidelines.  Ann Marie has been the SNAP data guru and has maintained and updated computerized documentation program for Brockton Public School Nurses, including documentation templates for daily visits, medication administration and treatment procedures, as well as individual student healthcare plans. She gives in-services as needed to educate her nursing staff.  Ann Marie graduataed with her DNP from Northeastern University in May 2018.
