Presenter:

Michael Pistiner, MD, MMSc, is a pediatric allergist and the Director of Food Allergy Advocacy, Education, and Prevention at Mass General for Children’s Food Allergy Center. He is a national leader in food allergy and anaphylaxis education, school health collaboration, and provider training. Dr. Pistiner has contributed to multiple school health resources and publications, including the CDC’s Voluntary Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies in Schools, the Food Allergy Management and Education (FAME) Toolkit, the 2016 Massachusetts guideline update Managing Life-Threatening Allergies in Schools, and the recently published Food Allergy Management in Schools (FAMS) guidelines. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, serving on both the Section on Allergy and Immunology and the Council on School Health.

Dr. Pistiner is the co-founder of AllergyHome.org, which has provided free training for schools for over a decade. He has served as a voluntary consultant for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health School Health Services and regularly partners with school nurses and educators to improve safety and inclusion for students with food allergies. A father of a child with food allergies, he brings both professional expertise and personal perspective to his work.
