Presenter:
Jamy Gaynor has 13 years of experience providing care in both hospital and community settings. She was originally trained as a neuroscientist at UMass Amherst where she was the recipient of a Howard Hughes undergraduate fellowship. She left her career in neuroscience to pursue a career in nursing. Originally working in an intensive care unit at a level one teaching and research hospital in Massachusetts, She left her hospital-based career to pursue her passion of providing care and education in the community setting. For the past three years, she has worked as a school nurse where she continues to pursue best practices for collaboration with families and community. For her work within the school community she received runner-up Masonic Teacher of the Year Award in 2018. She received her EdD from Regis College in 2018 with a focus on identification of tools to reduce stress and burnout in school nurses. In addition to her current school nursing position and research pursuits, she also guest lectures in the Graduate School of Nursing Program at Elms College.
