This program is provided by Northeastern University School Health Academy (NEUSHA), located within Northeastern University School of Nursing, which is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s commission on accreditation. The New England Coalition Against Trafficking (NECAT) is a joint provider of this program.

Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the process of developing interdisciplinary teams for human trafficking
  2. Describe trauma-informed approaches to interviewing and care of individuals suspected/confirmed to be involved with human trafficking
  3. Identify screening tools for use with individuals suspected of engagement with human trafficking
  4. Describe resources for interdisciplinary teams
  5. Describe medical issues encountered in human trafficking (Track A)
  6. Describe best practices for outreach to those at risk or involved with human trafficking (Track A)
  7. Describe issues with human trafficking and the courts (Track B)
  8. Describe investigative techniques used to protect victims (Track B)

Boston area healthcare providers, public safety officials and mental health clinicians will hear from experts on human trafficking including healthcare providers, law enforcement, government officials, outreach workers and survivors.
